ART:FILM Think Tank at Frieze London art fair

Samenvatting
International Film Festival Rotterdam, CPH:DOX and LUX are hosting an ART:FILM Think Tank focusing on the borderland between film and visual arts at this year's Frieze London Art Fair 2013. When Frieze London art fair 2013 takes place this week, a group of 30 invited film and art professionals will meet and discuss the ever growing borderland between film and visual arts at the very first Think Tank at the art fair hosted by International Film Festival Rotterdam, CPH:DOX and LUX – in partnership with Frieze Foundation. Considering the very active and growing range of projects made on the frontier between the art world and the film world, the question rises why so little common initiatives and mechanisms exist to produce, finance and showcase the projects in collaborative manners in between both worlds. ART:FILM Think Thank takes place on Wednesday 16th October, and the goal is to present the ideas and results at Frieze London art fair on Friday, October 18th during an afternoon public panel presentation. Panelists include Eve Gabereau (Soda Film + Art), David Gryn (Artprojx), Khalil Joreige (Abbout Productions), and James Lingwood (Artangel). The results will also be discussed at this year's CPH:DOX in November, 7th- - 17th and the next edition of IFFR’s co-production market CineMart (January 26 – 29). The organizations arranging ART:FILM will use the results in working towards new cross sector initiatives. The Think Tank consists of professionals working with development, financing, production, distribution, exhibition, sales and training. The participants come from pubic film and art funds, producers, galleries, museums and art institutions, private collectors, curators, private foundations among others. International Film Festival Rotterdam, CPH:DOX, and LUX all have a specific focus on contemporary art in their overall profile and activities. ART:FILM was initiated two years ago and works as an international platform gathered around a common mission to facilitate meetings between artists, filmmakers, galleries, art institutions, producers, foundations and other professionals working with art and/or film.
